I loved the movie!! They did a really great job with the arena and all the other sets, and all of the tributes were exactly how I imagined them. However there were a few things missing from the book that would have enhanced the movie for me. Such as the genetically mutated dogs. In the movie they were just large vicious dogs, but in the book they were supposed to be genetically mutated to look like each of the fallen tributes. Also I would have liked to seen a bit more romance between Katniss and Peeta. But overall I really did enjoy the movie!
The older woman was annoying. “I’m done.” Good for you. Go watch Battle Royale and leave us alone. I hate people who are negative. At least explain WHY. I loved the film, despite its flaws. But as movie adaptations go, this is the most faithful I’ve seen. Harry Potter was more faithful in movies 1 & 2, then they went off the rails. I won’t comment on Twilight, because I can’t really judge how well it was adapted.
Went to see movie with grand-child and her friends. Was very disappointed! This movie is about children slaughtering children in a depraved society made up super rich persons with no morals or humanity toward the poor. Although our world seem to want to live like that today with a rich class preying on the poor to provide them with their depraved entertainment and lively hood. Just disgusting and tried to help these kids see how a world like that would be a end to the human society and I would rather live in a world where apes ruled than such a world as this! I advise everyone not to support such entertainment, not even to feed their minds with reading material that can indoctrinate them to believe such a world would be okay!!!!
I’m surprised to read negative reactions to the movie. I didn’t see it in theaters because I wanted to finish the book first. I did finally get to watch The Hunger Games through Blockbuster @Home, and I have to say that although it was missing a couple of parts from the book, it was still a great movie. I don’t think anyone should avoid seeing this movie because teenagers are killing teenagers. One of my co-workers said it best when she described The Hunger Games as a story to teach young people to embrace their families and loved ones. It also teaches them that they might inherit a future that’s ugly and unfair, but this should entice them to be proactive now!
